Posted by: Miro | Post date: 29.07.21Sunshine, seaside and Brighton, the three key ingredients for the perfect summer. Whether you’re a Brighton resident or perhaps just visiting for the summer, here’s a list of 6 ‘must do’s’ to enjoy the perfect Brighton summer experience each year, compiled by Lawton & Dawe properties.
Attend the Brighton and Hove Pride Festival
Unfortunately cancelled in 2020 & 2021, Brighton Pride is one of the biggest international LGBTQI+ pride events with several hundred thousand extra visitors coming to the city over the 7 day period. There are so many fun activities and events to take part in. You get to show your support for the LGBTQI+ community whilst having an amazing time. And like all other festivals you will eat, drink and party in the amazing city of Brighton.
There are three main elements to Brighton Pride. Firstly, you can watch or take part in the glorious riot of colour, music and dancing that is The parade. Secondly, The Pride in the Park Festival is another great reason to get involved, having previously featured performances from massive artists like Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, Anne Marie, Clean Bandit and many more. The street party is another place where you can let loose and have a ton of fun with various stages with all kinds of live performances and different genres of music – it takes place over both the Saturday & Sunday of the event.
The Beach
While you’re in Brighton, why not take advantage of one of the UK’s most famous beaches – the beautiful pebbly Brighton beach? This is a great place to have fun with your family or friends, make memories and so much more. The huge beach features a variety of fantastic opportunities for entertainment such as the Pier and the i360 (more info below), the Brighton Zip Wire, Hove Lawns (great for pinicing and grass sports), Hove Lagoon for all your water sport needs, dozens of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, beach volleyball courts and basketball courts, children’s play and swim areas, the classic crazy golf plus so, so much more.
Visit the Brighton Pier
If you wanna have fun and play games with your kids, the iconic Brighton Pier is the perfect place for you. Lots of games for the children and activities for every member of the family. When lunch time strikes, you have a variety of delicious meals to choose from. Feeling a bit brave? In that case you can climb up the mega slides or take a ride on the Fantasia course at the back of the pier.
The i360
The British Airways observatory tower. The i360 is a 162 meter high enclosed pod that allows you to view the entire beauty of Brighton city. If you don’t have a fear of heights and you want to check out the aerial view of your soon to be city, the i360 is your go to place.
Looking to have a bit more fun while on it? Take part in one of the planned events, like music performances to enhance your experience to an even higher level.
Feeling romantic? The i360 makes for a great place to get down on one knee and propose to your significant other. With the magical view, and the euphoria of feeling like you’re high up above everything, it’s just the perfect place while also giving you a beautiful proposal story.
The Royal Pavilion and Museum
The Royal Pavilion was originally built as a palace for King George IV. It has since become a wonderful tourist site for locals and foreigners alike. You can have a tour around the palace grounds, listen to live music and even dine there. There are so many things you can plan out for your visit. If you love nature, the gardens are surely something you will also love. This is a really amazing historical location you can visit with your family not only to observe but also to enjoy a bit of fun. You and your kids can play dress up and pretend you’re one of the royals from the 18th century..
If you haven’t had enough fun at the pavilion, the Brighton museum and art gallery are also located at the royal pavilion. You’ll see the museum in the gardens; the heart of the palace. You and your family can walk around observing the beautiful paintings, sculptures and old relics stored inside the museum.
Sea Life
The world’s oldest aquarium just so happens to be in Brighton. The Sea Life Centre is the oldest aquarium, opened in 1872 and to this day has its original beautiful Victorian era design. There are so many different types of sea creatures and animals you can observe as they are swimming and living their lives.
There are so many fun things to do in Brighton during the summer – the fun really never ends in this famously hedonistic and unique town. From pebbly beaches with coves great for shallow swimming for the kids, to grand palaces where you can play dress up and imagine you’re royalty, to being on top of the world in the i360, to dancing all day in festivals. Brighton sure is one awesome place to live at, either by yourself or with your family. Get in contact with Hove estate agents at Lawson & Dave properties to start scouting for your perfect home today.
