Lawton and Dawe Partner up with St Christopher’s School to Help Community
Posted by: Lucy Dawe | Post date: 09.04.18We love our local area. Being part of such a vibrant and close-knit community makes us really happy and proud so we wanted to contribute more by teaming up with a nearby school, St Christopher’s Prep School. Two of our team, Lucy and Pippa, were recently given a tour of the school and were struck by what a great atmosphere it had and how nice the staff were. We’ve been working with the school on a few things and are greatly looking forward to doing more with them soon. Here is a bit about the school and how we collaborate with them.
St Christopher’s Prep School
Lucy and Pippa thought it was a lovely school and were impressed with the range of activities and facilities on offer. As a Brighton College School, St Christopher’s offers some fascinating opportunities for children aged between four and thirteen. The school has a focus on sport, creativity and performing arts to let the students try their hand at everything from drama to fencing. Established in 1927, the school is now a very modern place to learn with great IT facilities and a motto that includes the belief that “kindness, courtesy and curiosity breed confidence”. We think that’s great.
How we have Worked Together
As such a vital part of the community, the school often engages in fund raising activities and other events to help bring everyone together for a good cause. As this is right up our street (get it?), we are getting involved as much as we can to support them and help them give something back to the community. Recently, they held a charity quiz night which we sponsored by adding in a quiz question on local house prices with the chance to win a bottle of champagne. We have just started our relationship with the school so are greatly looking forward to doing more of this sort of thing.
St Christopher’s School Spring Fair
On Saturday 28th April, the school will be holding a lovely spring fair and we’re going to be there! We’re very lucky to have a stall amongst it all and we’re excited to see what the very creative staff, students and local people will have on offer.
Future Collaborations
Cunning plans are currently coming together for us to work together with St Christopher’s School to support the Off The Fence charity. We love this local charity who do such a lot of great work to help the homeless and vulnerable people of Brighton and Hove through their services providing living essentials and advice for the homeless, help and safety for vulnerable women and work in schools promoting their values and supporting young people.
Our community is so important to us and close to our heart so it’s great to be able to work alongside this lovely school to support local charities. We’re thoroughly looking forward to doing more with them in the future and we can’t wait to see everyone at the Spring Fair later this month.
If you’d like to talk to us about any of the community work we do, or anything at all really, please feel free to call us on 01273 917791. We have expert local knowledge so are happy to advise you on any aspect of buying, selling, leasing out or renting property in this area.
